i have an old duo-fast fn83 ( long story but poor folks got poor ways lol ) that feeds fine for 8 or 10 nails and then the lead nail seemingly seperates from the strip and drives partialy down from the strip jamming in the " jaws " of the nailer it is fairly easily cleared but is annoying and time consuming is there a trick i am missing on adjusting the head ( tightness of allen screws ect.. ) or is it a lube problem .. any ideas are appreciated @ this point i have dissassembled the head ( partialy to the plate that is spring loaded ) cleaned it , and relubed with oil but thought i would seek advice before possibly making a mis step on this

I'm trying to remember the config on the fn83...

1. Change the spring.

2. The head and driver may be worn out.

Might be a long shot, - - but I had a similar problem with my roofing gun once, - - it was drivin' me nuts, - - 'til I finally figured out the whole box of nail coils was slightly defective (from HD, of course).

well i stretched the coil spring a bit , used dremil to polish ( not grind ) the piece the spring tensions on to hold the brads in place as well as the cut on the headpiece and reassembled shot about 20 brads and it worked like a champ so far thanks again for the advise

I knew it was the spring. Good bit there about the polish thing.
