Stair Railing Questions

Need Suggestions/Input on best way to put a railing on an open staircase and also continue it back 180 degrees on the upper floor from the direction of the staircase. In other words the railing will go up the stairs and then also need a railing for the edge of the loft area. I plan to use stock railing material from a place like Home Depot with a fillet on the handrail. I plan to go post to post. My concern is how I can make the 180 degree turn from the stair railing to the loft railing. Should I just use two newel posts right next to each other (one to receive the handrail for the stairs and then the other for the loft railing? Would this look riciculous to have the two posts right next to eachother. Hope this makes sense.

Why have 2? Set the taller one for the loft railing and die the stair railing into it.
