One small victory

After a couple months worth of weekends I finally have something to look at that doesn't look like hell:

After (the colors are really warm, the ceiling is pure white, the walls are light tan, the trim is "swiss coffee" which looks more like cream than coffee):

Oh yeah, so we take up this horrible rug only to find hardwood floors in good shape. We still have to take up the tack strips, and since it's going to be rented, we're going to install carpet (a darker brown than the walls). It should look awesome and the floors will be protected.

I should have taken the pictures the next morning with natural light :(

Thanks guys. It looks much better IRL. I'll take another when the carpet is in and during the day so you can see the colors right. I think the colors are awesome. My partner in this thought the colors were backwards but likes the trim lighter than the walls now. Not bad for a 100 yr old house. It's got a router in the basement and ethernet in nearly every room. I think it's going to be the best two rooms + private bath in orange county. Anyone looking to rent? :D
