i just need to know how to bid on a job in south carolina on painting
do you charge by the sq ft and how much?
With painting I would assume it's per square foot of wall area.. then would probably have another (higher) cost per lf of trim, casing, etc. Then I would say there is a markup for complexity - maybe you have to cut in around some existing cabinets or whatever.
The ultimate equation is material costs + labor costs + overhead + profit = price

For new construction in NC, I pay 1.25 per sq. foot.
Example.. I just built a 2240 sf house with a 525sf garage.
I paid (1.25 * (2240 + 525)) = $3456.25
That gets everything caulked, primed, and painted. Walls, ceilings, and trim..
Painter supplies all needed materials.
