Anyone install this in a home. Some parts of N. California are now adopting this Code. Any info on the installation or suppliers would be appreciated!

It was touch and go on my current project on whether or not we would require fire suppression systems.. ended up that we only had to add a fire hydrant. The owner was more concerned about accidental activation of the system and ruining all his antiques than he was of fire.
I've only had to deal with fire sprinklers in a commercial aspect.

I used to install residential/commercial fire sprinklers (gluing and screwing from dusk till dawn LOL), We mainly used CPVC from blazemaster (http://www.blazemaster.com/) in a residential job.

There wasn't much to it really, our engineer would figure out where each sprinkler head needed to go usually with software for: pipe sizing, maximum coverage and to avoid cold solder (where the water cones hit each other and the water just drops instead of fanning out). It would also show on the blue print where the runs needed to go. He had the easy part ...LOL

Then we'd rough the system in, setup the valving in an accessable place, usually a closet etc, set up the wall connect where the firetruck could externally attach to the system, pop in the heads, pressure test it with the fire chief (he's the inspector), have the electrician connect the bell to the flow meter etc the the chief would be present for a flow test (connect a hose instead of a head, or a hose to the drain and let water flow through to activate the alarm).

After the boarders, mudders, tapers and painters were through, we'd go in and put on trim rings, covers or plain escusions and finish up.

That was in BC Canada...not sure who does it in your area...maybe contact the NFPA or ask at the local plumbing supply store in your area, Westburne or similar...
