wall stud estimator - dumb question

On the wall stud calculator, what is the difference between "Openings" and "Spaces?" I'm thinking openings is doors/windows, but then what's spaces?

Spaces are between T's and corners I believe. It's been so long since I've had to estimate a stud wall - I'll check my notes from back just to be doubly sure.
And it's not a dumb question I'm just dumb for not writing up a little explanation for it :)

Spaces are the spaces between Tees and between Tees and Corners.
