8 foot front doors

I don't have an open foyer, but I like the look of the 8 foot doors. I will have 9 ft ceilings in first floor. The architect drew in a standard door with transom and sidelights, but I wanted to get an 8 foot, full glass door with 2 glass sidelights. I can see for over 100 miles out my front door, and I wanted a nice view. You think 8' doors would look OK instead of transom? Uncommon :?: I have a balcony obove the front door with French doors on 2nd floor.

Not uncommon in higher end residential - I just ordered a 9' and a 12' door :)
