So my electrician has left me (hospital, mom cancer surgery) and I need to install my thermostat for my hydronic boiler.
I know the red and white will turn it on and keep it on if I tie them together but not sure about the others. It's a single zone, looked at the diagram and not too sure.

Any help?

How many wires and what colors are they. Is everything hooked up down stairs at the boiler?

The thermostat should have come with a wiring diagram that shows the the hook up. What stat is it. Model number?

I believe there are 6 wires (not at home, at work)

The plumbers had the boiler running for 3 hours yesterday (by tying the red and white together) and then pulled them apart before they left, so it is all ready to go.

The wiring diagram, from what I remember looking at this morning, had 3 different examples, never read a diagram before so that's why I'm asking here. I will get the model number of the stat tonight and post it...all I know it is the cheap round one.

Is the air conditioning guy on the job? They should be able to wire it.

Is it floor heat?

air cond. guy is the "plumber/heating". They are done now for a while until Spring (to come back and set the unit) They didn't put in their bid any electrical wiring so I assume that's why they didn't install it, they just left it there.

Yes, it's water/glycol in-floor heat.

Cheap and round with a boiler you say? Probably just the 2 wires, red and white. Whites w1 to energize boiler and red is low voltage power from transformer. Unless you have ac or a stat that requires a common wire to energize internal electronics. I guess more info. is needed on stat.
