a thought about a salesforce

I've been thinking as I always do. A great way to decrease your advertising budget would be to hire a sales force of outside sales reps who go door to door or some how create their own leads.

What are your thoughts about this? What do you think the chances would be of finding 2 or 3 guys willing to find their own leads and work them. Also What type of compensation would you think they would deserve?

That's a good question.. because I have no idea. Hah. honestly though ..
I think it would be a good way to get a more targeted lead for sure.. but the question becomes does it do more harm than good? I know when someone comes to my door I will typically remember the name of whoever it was - but it's not usually a good memory.
As far as compensation - I guess it goes to what type of person you would employ.. construction savvy or just someone that can hand out pamphlets? Either way I would think the only way to make it a truly profitable venture would be to base it on commission. In light of that I would think it would be a high turn over ratio for you.
But that opinion comes from someone that hasn't really done anything of the kind.
