I noticed that some of these threads have comments by contractors that seem to have honest gripes about their customers.
I just wanted to say that inspite of many, many, many problems we had with our home, I have made it a point to thank the people, and companies that did do a good, or excellent job for us. On my site I mention that our sales rep. tried very hard to help us, he always returned our calls, and he bent over backwards to try and get our builder to correct problems, and repair defects. Guess what? We heard he was fired! Apparently it doesn't pay to be ethical when the company you work for has another agenda. I also mentioned that the window and door contractor went out of their way to make our windows fit, even though many of the frames are warped. We had a fence included in our contract, and the fencing company did an outstanding job, and I let them know we appreciated their effort. I know it takes many subcontractors to build a home, but ultimately the builder will take credit for an outstanding product, or in our case, the legacy of a poorly built, and defective home.
