Ok I'm probably going to start the remodel in a week or two. I was wondering does anyone have a checklist or spreadsheet. I want to make sure I didn't forget anything so I don't go over budget.
I'm pricing stuff now at homdepot.com
I just finished up with a bathroom remodel where I stripped out an existing wall and joined a bathroom with a walk-in closet to make a decent sized master bath - instead of the stand up shower size we had. I'll spend a little time getting a list of materials together - I kept all the receipts.

Thanks. I don't even need a list of actual materials just a description like:
Floor tiles
faucet
towel rack
vanity
cabinet
etc...
I put together as much as I could think but I am SURE i missed something since this is my first bathroom remodel. The kitchen will follow after the bathroom, if I am satisfied with my work.
Right on - I'll try and put something together tonight.
Well this is what I came up with on my remodel. What I started with was a 4'8 x 9' room with toilet, stand up shower, and single vanity. Expanded it another 5' - added a tub/shower, large linen closet, double vanity, 2 medicine cabinets, a center mirror cabinet, and stone floor. I made the countertop and trimmed it in oak... with oak backsplash. The toilet didn't move but if it had I would've needed a toilet flange and additional pvc. I'm sure there are still items that I've forgotten.

Frickin excellent! I was getting advice from some of the DYI forums saying "No matter what you'll go over budget. There is no way you can predict all of your costs."
I think you've given me more than enough to predict my costs. I hate when silly people give silly advice.
The biggest thing with people is they don't want to take the time to give the right advice. I'm fairly anal though too.
