Anyone work with or make any of these...Know where to buy them in SE WA?
I'm looking for alternatives to a railway tie wall in my yard...I can re-use the ties, but they don't allow water to drain very well, the hydrostatic pressure at the mid section of the wall is slowly pushing it out.
I've put in a post (RW tie) similar to a bulkhead type wall (but without water on the other side) as a temporary measure and it seems to have stopped further movement.
I've dug out and backfilled it in the middle with crushed fill instead of clay (barf) but it really needs to be fixed this summer when the ground is dry.
I'm contemplating over renting an excavator or backhoe (to level the top end of the run) and putting the ties back in correctly, or doing it over with 2x2x6 (hxdxl) concrete blocks or gabions and proper drainage etc...
The guys that built it probably thought they were doing a decent job...but I'm the one stuck fixing it.
Thanks guys!
