Hello all,

I recently had a basement poured and was starting on the sub-floor. I ran into some calculation issues because my 8ft walls are 3 inches short. I can make the right adjustments, but I am wondering if such a discrepancy is normal for poured concrete walls. They did use forms. Should I complain?

Thanks,
Joe

If the contractor you used formed your basement with almost any type of wood forms it is common that an 8' pour measures 7' 10" from the top of footing to top of wall. check you contract from you sub to see if they specify a full 8' wall or a 7' 10" wall. Also like i said wall heights should be figured from top of footing to top of wall, not top of slab to top of wall.

Pokey,
I checked the drawings and you are right on. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
