Post footing and slab question

Hello,

I just got my hands on a little house with a dirt floor basement. I'd like to install a few posts to reduce first floor bounce and also install a concrete slab.

Question: Should the footing for the posts integrate with the slab or sit under the slab?

Thanks a lot for any pointers or references to other info.

Your best bet, if using wooden posts, is to thicken the slab (8"-12" depth) under where the posts will be and use a simpson post anchor. So in answer to your question - the footing and slab should integrate.
I don't have any other pointers for this situation anyway - let me know if you have other questions.
