POST HOME CONSTRUCTION

Hi all,
I am looking for any info, preferably free, on line that shows, describes, or gives any details about building or someone who has built a pole house. You know just like they do barns, with large posts [poles] in the ground, except building homes, perferably two story.

I helped build one when I was a kid. The barn and house were all the same construction and connected. Well- it wasn't built with "poles" but with 6x6's... a little more modern. hah

Was the house a single story or two full story's ? I'd be interested in any full two story homes done with posts, 6x6 or such. :)

It had a second floor but it wasn't a full floor. The whole structure ended up being about 200+' long with the house taking up about 25' on one end. Living room opened up into an area where they were keeping horses (didn't smell too good in there either - don't blame me wasn't my idea haha). Metal delta rib roofing. Rough sawn fir siding 12" to 6" widths random.
