Knotty Alder

Any ideas on a good place to buy knotty alder entry and patio-type doors? Anybody had experience with this type wood? We live in East Texas where the weather is hot and humid.

I confess that I've not seen the wood in person but looking at some of the websites where it has been used (such as the following) it's really nice.

Not sure about knotty alder (other than having very nice character) - but straight grained alder is used all the time on exterior doors (and does quite well). So I don't think that there is a problem with using it at all. As far as where to get it - you'll probably have to start in the phone book under something like Door Manufacturers or Millwork companies.
