Poly Pipe Fusing

How difficult is it to do thermal fusing of polyethylene HD pipe for a geothermal loop? Can pretty much any plumber do it? How much would it cost to buy the tooling to learn how to do it yourself?

How long is your loop that you can't get the pipe in one length? One pretty simple way to join poly pipe is to use a ford coupler. They're about $60 (depends on size, I think that's what I paid for a 1.25" 200psi), but probably will never leak.

It has to NEVER leak. It's for a closed loop geothermal system. At least 1800 ft long.
