I will be laying a slab walkway and was wondering how much cement I can mix? The slab will be 36" x 4" x 25'-0" (approximately: 1 cubic yard of cement). The mixer I will be using can mix ~4, 90lb bags of quickcrete per mix. I will be mixing approximately 45 bags. I'd like to pour this in one shot (no sections). Is this feasible?

I have considered ordering a trailer of U-haul cement, but the walkway is a bit away from the nearest delivery point and I would most likely have to wheel barrel it to the site from my drive way.

My questions:

Should/can I mix 1 cubic yard of cement within a reasonable period of time without affecting the integrity of the slab?

Even though the nearest delivery point is a bit away, would U-Haul cement be better than mixing (transporting via wheel barrel?

Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.

Mixing your own is cheaper. Also, that trailer probably doesn't have an agitator on it. If it takes longer than 30 minutes to get it on site, it's going to be a mess because the water will rise and the concrete will settle, and it's amazing how fast that concrete will set when the water's not in it.
Are you going to have help? I think with one other person you could easily mix that concrete on site and work it without any problems.
