Painting SmartSiding?

I'm using SmartSide panels on my shed. I'm now at the stage of painting (and potentially priming). Does the SmartSide need to be primed? If so, what type of primer would you recommend? On the SmartSide website, it recommends a "high-quality acrylic latex paint". How many layers would you recommend I apply (of the paint)?

Any general tips on painting SmartSiding are greatly appreciated!!!

I would call the company or a distributor to ask these questions.

Definitely use their recommendations or else go to a paint store- not a store that sells paint and get an expert's recommendation. giddonah- that is a cool signature line- wish I could get one like it.
