I need to replace flashing around a 1" roof vent pipe. I'm having a hard time finding any that small. I have found some "Oatey No-caulk Galvanized Solar Flashing". What does the term "Solar" refer to? Is this just part of the model name, or is there some significant meaning to it?

Any other recommendations?

For the record, the roof is moderately sloped asphalt shingles (fiberglass base, I believe).

Thanks!

we had a question about this sort of thing a couple months ago and I think everyone agreed that the standard way was to just put some tar-like stuff around it. IIRC nobody liked it, but everyone said that was just how it was done. I'm not sure though, I don't do much roofing.

Can't say I've ever seen a 1" vent pipe, - - as far as I know the absolute minimum pipe coming thru a roof should really be 2", - - but sometimes I see 1 1/2", - - why don't you shorten your 1" pipe, - - then attach a 1 1/2" pipe length to a 1 1/2" to 1" reducer, - - then you can use a standard 1 1/2" roof jacket (flange).

P.S. All vents are supposed to be increased by one size before they come thru the roof anyway.

I don't know about that PS, Tom. My inspector was pretty thorough, and I've reviewed quite a bit about the UPC, and have never heard that... Not saying you're wrong, just new to me. :)

Those Oatey should be fine. I think solar is just saying it is resistant to the sun (uv or whatever.)
