What's the best way to cut holes for receptacles and such in cement board? I would think a jig saw with special blade? I was laying in bed last night thinking about having to put up a piece of 1/4 inch cement board above a kitchen counter and stated to wonder how to cut holes in the board.
I hope this isn't like my bidet question :D

A jigsaw blade will work just fine. That cement board is not that difficult to cut. I imagine even and old worn out jigsaw blade would do the trick

Thanks Pokey, I kinda thought it would and it was what I was going to do if I was going to use the board.

You can also get a RotoZip bit specific for cutting cement board.

I would intentionally use an old worn out jig saw blade. I think I've said before (here...or somewhere  ) that I use a hand saw for 2 way cuts on backerboard. The saw is useless for anything else because the kerf is longgggg gone, but it cuts backer easily.

I haven't tried cutting backerboard with a regular jig saw blade, so I don't know how well they work. But, I would just like to point out that they make jig saw blades that use abrasive carbide, specially made for this purpose. HD has them, the package is green and yellow, IIRC. Remington maybe?
