thru wall a/c unit

dont know if this is the place...but should a thru the wall a/c unit be up high or on the floor level?

myself, I would prefer high because cold air drops and there is nothing in the way of airflow

High is nice. Is the discharge out the front or tilted at an angle to throw air up?
