OK it goes like this. Been working on getting a house goinf for some time now. Building it myself with my Father in laws help( He's a builder ya know)Got the clearing done and basement dug, footers inspected. Foundation company poured my walls and they looked good but and this is a big but they put in the brick lege but when the contour of the land got less than feet from the slb thwy stopped. I plan on having four sides brick and i will slope the ground at least2 more feet up the building so I am looking at running brick from the footer, which lets just say will be 7 feet undergrround, or i need to come up with a brick ledge foundation.

Now I may have not mentioned that we poured the walls 10 feet all the way around. they told me they could not go below 6' with the brick ledge after the forms were in place.

Any ideas on a ledge or do I just need to do Masonary block?

I would personally just block up from the footing. A lot easier in the long run. It sounds like you will have 4' of block at the tallest part to get up to the height of your brick ledge, so no big deal.

Thanks for the reply. Yea that what I have been thinking is to just go with block.
