Any one got one of the big ones with the Hurca-Lift. I am thinking about getting one and was just wondering how you like it. It seems like a well made piece of macherny.

There is no such thing as a Ridgid well made piece of machinery.

Dragon, would you care to elabrae on that. Where I work , we use the rigid cordless drill and they are better than dewalt in my book.

I like my ridgid 12 compound saw. Other than that I have to agree with Dragon. Ridgid is mainly junk. I think Home Depot is pulling a Walmart and making it all in China at dirt cheap prices. They are making a killing and pushing it hard as a result. I had the entire 18V cordless set last year and returned it after 2 weeks for Milkwaukee. The 2 batteries were always on the damn charger, pieces of junk. I would rate them in line with Ryobi.

I'm not a woodworking guru, but I love my Ridgid joiner. It's a nice piece of machinery. I always thought that the saw you are mentioning looked pretty nice as well.

I love the Ridgid drills. They do have a shorter battery life than most other 18v tools, but then again, they have more torque too. It's a tradeoff, and the charger is sweet, 2 batteries in 30 mins, not 1 in an hour like DeWalt, etc.

There is a vast difference between Ryobi and Ridgid. I would rate Ridgid above DeWalt (DeWalt has become no better than Black & Decker with yellow casings, I expect this to happen to P-C eventually too) these days, but below P-C (for most stuff) and well below Milw.

I have a Ryobi corded 3/8" drill that just won't quit. When drilling in plaster I got plaster dust and crumbs inside the case, and it kept going (but would spit little bits out for a week). I think my cordless is a Ryobi too, come to think of it. That thing is solid too, except for the direction switch, but it holds a charge for a few days at the rate that I use it. I'd like to buy new ones, but I just can't bring myself to replace tools that still work great.

I've had the Ridgid tablesaw for a couple of months. It came out of the box square (after assembly) and hasn't caused me any problems.

It aslo was rated very high in two tablesaw reviews I've read since I bought it.

I use mine for light household duties and woodworking. It's not a top end cabinet saw, but it isn't meant to be.

I was doing some research and I just thought that people should know, Ridgid, and Ryobi are made by the same company Emerson electronics on an exclusive deal with Home Depot. I include Milwaukee in there for the reason that at the begining of FY04 parent company of Emerson Electronics just purchased the Milwaukee company. Just some food for thought.
