Any rule of thumb or generalizations regarding general square feet covered per hour? day?

I'm looking at prime and paint for new construction. Very little to cut around; no carpet or finished floors; minor fixtures. All that said, I will look into spray systems, but I believe they'd prefer I roll.

Ive had a crew spray the inside walls of a 2000 sf house in 1 day. It gose quite quick and is quite messy. YOu need to tape off everything.

I bought a Graco sprayer at HD to paint my house. My main floor is about 1100 ft2, and it took me about 1/2 day to prime it. Took me another couple days to do the rest, because just about every room is a different color. If all the walls were the same color, probably could have done the whole job in two to three days. If you spray, be sure to back-roll it. There is a bit of a learning curve on spraying as well.

...If you spray, be sure to back-roll it...

Is this just to get the roller texture, or does it affect adhesion, or something?

To give even texture, and if you aren't perfect with your spray technique, also to give even coverage.

Most of the paint "institutes" suggest that the greatest advantage to backrolling is merely the ease of repairs and touch ups matching the paint well.
