I've included a drawing of my situation ( I hope) below. My gas and electric utilities are currently supplied on the exterior wall of my current garage where I want to put my addition. It is trapped by my driveway on one side and a hill that slopes down to a tuck under garage on the bottom. In the photo you can see where I'm planning to put my addition in dotted lines and where the meters are located.

I'm not sure where to have the utility guys put the temp meter while construction is occurring. I will be having excavation and footings dug at the new addition. Any ideas or will the utility folks know what to do?

Why dont you just move them to the other side of the house and be done with it. Your likely going to have to pay a pretty penny to move them so why not get it done first thing.

Well I'm not moving my electrical panels which are located inside the garage. The other side of the house is some 80 feet away too. The meters will be better hidden on this side of the house.

Also, I believe the service comes in from the street on the garage side of the house. I can already see this being tricky.

Hard to tell exactly how it slopes from your description, but can you just move your utilities down to the garage corner? I suspect the utility guys will have their own opinions, especially if they have a 'cousin' or something who's an electrician putting his kids thru college!
