I got some novice framing questions for the experts. When sheathing a roof over trusses, do I stop the sheathing flush with the end of the truss or should the sheating overlap the facia board on new construction. Also, what is the best type of boards to get for facia boards. Is there a trick to keeping the facia board from warping and "waving" at you as you sight down the building? Should I put blocks between the truss tails to help support the back side of the facia board? Any help would be appreciated!

Flush. Fascia should go all the way to the top. To keep the wave from happening you may need to cut a tail here and there. And buy straight fascia.

What thickness of facia do you recommend? Also what is the best kind of wood/material to use for facia?

And then wrap it with aluminum trim coil.....heck with painting.
On the tails, I use a 2x4 all the way down the tails, not blocking between. Gives your 1x something solid to back to, plus something to nail gutter to......1x will not hold gutter spikes all that well.
Hey Monty.....is it me or are you taking "cute pills"......your pic has improved a lot! 8)

I'm the odd man out here.
On steeper pitches I'll let the sheathing extend past the fascia so that the drip edge doesnt have to be smashed flat when installed. In my not-so-humble opinion it looks much much better and more professional.

Dragon,
Your not the odd man out there. Some guys use drip edge on additions that I've framed but I haven't framed one new house in all the years where I've seen a roofer use drip edge. It might sound crazy but I read on other forums that poeple use drip edge but not around here in NJ at least in my area anyway.
