have a job installing crown molding, 1 3/4 bed mold, on cathedral ceiling. we built the livingroom with a 17 degree "prowl" sort of like a bow of a boat, the center of the room is 4 / 5 feet longer than the outside walls. so my wall angle is 107 degrees, and the ceiling is 115 degrees the spring angle is 45 . what would be the best / safest way to make this work other than just using plinth blocks :?

Man, is that a tough one, would like to see pictures, sounds pretty cool.

Sounds like your choices would be either 2 different sized bed moldings (tough, because you'd have to 'custom-make' one), or you could 'tweak' those spring angles in opposite directions so they meet at the corners.

If the picture I have in my head is correct you have too many angles. You'll have to use a transition box.

well, i thought and thought about this, actually customer wanted it done yesterday . so i took some scrap 2x stock, select pine, and made small plinth blocks, there is about 3/8" reveal on the bottom and sides. angled them to match the ceiling slope, and wall angle. not really what i wanted to do but it looks good enough. one job done, twenty to go.
