Hi. We are installing an attic ladder in our multi-purpose room addition - the carpenter was here today putting it in. We had a Werner - can't remember the model # because we've taken it out and returned it to the lumberyard now. It was supposed to be heavy-duty, top-of-the-line, yadda yadda yadda.

It was junk!!! The 1/4 plywood "door" was wavy and would not close all the way despite endless adjustments - the thing stayed loose and hung down 1" at one corner and looked awful. The door was flimsy and wavy prior to installation, but we thought it might improve - it didn't.

So now we are in search of a better attic ladder. Anybody have any recommendations or experience with this problem?

Thanks,
Sandy

I forget who makes it but it is a german ladder and folds up like an accordian. Really impressed me and was quite sturdy. I also bet it cost several $$$100's. You might look into that.
