clay tiles alternatives???

from what I have learned is that, the clay tile is very expensive and very hard to work with. What are some of the best alternatives for this?

Might want to look at simulated metal tile panels. I'm looking at using a product called Met-Tile. Pricey at about $400/suare installed but you get a 50 yr warranty, and a 230 mph wind rating. They are much lighter than clay tiles so you don't need real robust roof framing to support all of the weight.
