Hello,

I'm putting drain tile around the interior of my basement, level with the footings. (There is tile around the exterior as well) My house is rectangular, 38' x 52', on a sloped lot, and the at the back wall (the downhill side) the footing is stepped down one foot. does all the drain tile need to be at the same level? Do I need to dig a trench around the three higher walls to put everything on the same plane? Could I leave i t as it is (2 levels) and just put the sump basket on the low side of the tile? How about raising the one low wall? that would bring the tile on that wall up above the footing. Is that a good idea?

lots of questions... thanks for the help!

Guess I stumped the experts, huh?

I'm pretty sure that your first idea will work. Leave it at two levels and put the pump on the lower level and as long as the water can, it will always find the lowest spot.

Thanks for the reply.

Putting the sump on the low side seemed to make sense to me,
but it's always nice to have a second opinion.

Thanks again!
