So apparently we're all going to R15 / R21 in walls, because people still think that this increase in R-Value will actually reduce national energy consumption.
How wrong they are. Too bad more people don't read articles like this one:

This is exactly what I've been trying to explain to my dad. He's "old school" in that he thinks in Michigan you gotta have 2x6 exterior walls. I'm building a house right now with 2x4 walls and just plain ole R13, but I'm going to blow whatever I can into the attic to maximize the R-value up there. He swears it'll cost me a fortune to heat my house.
