We had an addition built and bought all the fixtures. Does the standard cost get deducted from the contract amount or simply not added to the builder's costs? Thank you

It doesn't say anything about my credit. Just that standard materials will be used. I assumed the standard costs would be deducted back off the contract amount. I asked my contractor and he said he doesn't deduct them - he just doesn't charge me for them.
The contractor gave me his cost breakdown sheet and his total costs were higher than the contract amount. My final bill showed the original contract amount plus increased material costs. Maybe his increased costs ate up my credit?

Guess I'm not understanding your contract.
a. You had a contract for a set amount ?
b. You bought and paid for fixtures that the contract amount would have covered up to a set amount ? Or did you just go pick out stuff, and the contractor paid for it ?
c. Then you received a bill at the end for contract amount + increased costs ?
Were the increased cost for the fixtures or other things ?
