Surface Bond Cement Siding For Basment

My foundation is dry-stack block parged on both sides w/sbc. This leaves a nice looking exterior for the basment wall.

Will this be acceptable for a finish siding for the basement? If so I can forget about building a brick ledge right.

If it is not I can use some 1" thick stone veneer instead of brick. My goal is to avoid the brick ledge. My state is NC. Anyone know if this will satisfy code?

For all the veneer and cultured stone products that I've considered using or seen so far a ledge support is not needed.
I cant help with the codes.
I guess depending on if you apply a veneer or not then I would consider applying some kind of sealer/uv protection to the unprotected cement if you don't apply a stone exterior.
Would you mind telling what surface cement (name brand) you had applied ?
