We are going to have windows in a concrete block wall. The wall will be about 8' 6" high (13 courses). If we have a 4' window height then would it look alright to have it along with the other windows located just below the first (top) course of block ? This in total would give about 9" above the window to the ceiling. There would be about 3' below the bottom of the window to the floor. Does this sound alright ?

Not sure where the other 9" went (3' + 4' + 9" = 7'9"), - - but normally the top of the windows go in line with the tops of the doors, - - about 80", - - anything beyond that would fall in the personal preference category.

Sorry about that. Yes the first bottom course will be covered with backfill and slab. I was also using the 4' window as example. We actually have different size windows. I guess I'm asking if all of the tops of the windows was about 9" down from the ceiling then would it look alright or does that sound too high for a 8' high ceiling ?
Thanks

Sounds 'high' to me, - - well above your line of sight, - - but again, - - it's all a matter of opinion, - - and oft-times depends on other factors in the room/building/view.
Best bet is to draw it out to scale (at least on graph paper), - - interior and exterior view, - - and you'll be able to judge better.

Thanks for the help. The walls are almost up and complete. It looks like one course above the windows/door will work out just fine.
Thanks again.
