Is this product worth the extra money? $85 1 1/2 sqare roll.

Im about to install my first vinyl and was about to order this when the salesman said he only sold this to contracters installing cedar.

The extra 1/4" thickness would bring the J channel almost even with the Brickmold.

Thanks

The purpose of this material is to create a "drainage plane" behind siding so that water can get out if it gets behind the siding. The question with vinyl siding is whether or not it is normally so tight against the sheathing that it would trap water. I don't know the answer but it shouldn't be hard to figure out.

Thanks.

Im using board and batten vertical vinyl siding so it has much less hollow space compared to horizontal clap board style. Lays flat except for the batten. I just hopped someone around here may have used it but looks like this site is slowing down.

The price sounds high for what it is. Heck.. some vinyl siding cost less than that.
