I have a friend that wants to build a planter made of 6"wide block about 4 to 5 courses high. She does not want to use 4 walls. In other words, she wants to build a planter of 3 walls and use her FENCE(WOODEN) as the back of the planter! She claims she owns a second home which already has this done. I tell her that its only a matter of time before that wood rots. I wouldnt trust any waterproofing material laid up against the wooden fence. She has had 2 contractors turn her down for that reason. What do you all think?
