Looking to add about 3ft stone ledger to front of house. However I would like to use a snythetic or artifical stone for weight/cost reasons. I would like to find something I can put up before the stucco so it looks realistic. Does anybody have any information on this type of product? I know Hope Depot carries a variety, it is connected together by mesh and only need to grout between the stones. Looks very real to me- its mold is actually made of real stones.
Thanks,
Craig
There are many different manufacturers of cast stone products. Coronado, Continental, Cultered Stone, etc..etc.. Staple tar paper to wall, staple metal lath on that, butter back of cast stone with mortar and apply to wall.

Yup, It's that easy and they look very realistic
Hi there, I have seen the faux rock, but I would prefere to go with the real thing. I am considering adding some rock venner/facade to some parts of our home's exterior. But I am concerned with securing the rocks to the wall. What is the best approach to keep them in place. I would love to put it in our entrance archway and wouldn't like one falling on someone's head  . Our home is a block construction with stucko, but parts are wooded frames (i.e. entrance arch).
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
