If you're looking for a tutorial, they've already been done. Try google for a bit. It's to your benefit to do the research first before coming here and asking how to do things. People who help out here don't do this for a living. Everyone's time is at a premium. Nobody wants to tell you how to do something you can learn from a little searching.

A specific question on the other hand, now that's where people will be helpful and go out of their way to help. Notice I said SPECIFIC question. Too many people post general questions that can't be answered and expect a perfect answer to be spoon fed to them. Also, unless you do the research, you probably won't understand the language the answer is given in. I know I had a hard time reading posts when I had no idea what a bird's mouth had to do with a roof.

Google is your friend. Then, come here with specific problems as you encounter them.

I'm kind of bored so What type of hardwood flooring are you considering? What type of subfloor? I just had some installed in my house and wish I would have done it myself now that I've seen it done.

Doing your own floors can save you some money. Just be careful about your materials. I bought cheap tile at HD, and it sucks. The custom order DAL was the worst. Horrible obvious pattern repeats... Including tools, I spent about $5 per sq foot on tile that really relies on being laid really well just to look decent. I could install custom solid maple t&g for the same price.
Now realize that you can do any job with the same materials, just sans the additional labor cost. That leads to the conclusion of the equation by determining how long it will take you to build, and then you have your rate. Is it worth it?

There are some things I have learned to always leave to others. Some jobs are well worth the cost of professional labor.

Hardwood flooring is at the top of my list.

I stay off of roofs too.

He's probably in the hospital with respiratory problems from dust and solvents or perhaps he electrocuted himself trying to rig a 220 connection from his panel for the sander he rented.

Or he lost the computer in the divorce settlement.
