Hi!

I've got a 14x28 shop w/ attic on a slab I'm framing. I originally started it as a pole building and converted to stick framing on a slab, so the attic trusses are already up and I'm framing the walls underneath. There's a pic at http://www.construction-resource.com/forum/ftopic3611.html&highlight=

Anyhow, I ended up building the end gable wall too short on the ends. Maybe the slab has a hump in the middle, I dunno. But the top plate is snug underneath the ceiling joist in the middle, but on the side at the corner it's ~3/4" short. Studs closer to the center have less and less gap.

I shoulda measured, but is there anything I can do now to fix this? The gable wall isn't really load bearing, since there's a doubled 2x6 that spans from one wall to the other right above it. So maybe it's okay as it is? I'll be putting T1-11 siding on.

Thanks :-)

I wouldnt worry about it too much. I would shim under the bottom plate where it is short so that at least it will be level and stay square.

Danno, do you have any current pictures?

Here's a pic of the top plate under the bottom chord of the gable truss. Studs are ~8' spaced q2'.

No need to worry about it.

Shim it, if you want

Thanks, Cole and V :-)

After finishing the stud wall (right side of pic) there's about 1.25" gap at the end, half that towards the middle. So I might shim just that one. Have to be at the top cuz it's a double stud already nailed w/ 18 nails at the bottom to the SSTB.

Cheers!
