Just getting to the flooring part of my house remodel. I bought 1000 sq ft of glueless laminate flooring (Pergo immitation) to do most of the house minus the bedrooms. The bedrooms are going to be carpet. I am not going to attempt the carpet myself but I am going to do the glueless laminate myself.

My question is do I get the carpet installed first and then put in my flooring, or do I do my flooring first then have the carpet installed?

Thanks

We did the same thing on our house... laminate in most of house, carpet in the bedrooms. We installed the laminate first with a transition strip at each bedroom doorway. The carpet installers then rolled the carpet up next to the transition strips. Looks good.

shoot, I didnt even spring for the transition strips. The carpet layers made it look perfect.

The transition strip we used was a strip of wood that was pre-stained to match the laminate. It transitioned from one level of flooring to another (laminate to carpet). They usually sell these with the laminate.

either drill and screw with anchors or just glue it down
