I am in college, and must do a proposal for one of my classes. This project requires that I do a full proposal on a fitness center with an Olympic size swimming pool, gymnasium, locker rooms, etc. Now mind you I am majoring in nursing, so I don't have a clue where to start. PLEASE HELP ME! We are supposed to have estimates, etc. in this thing. How/where do I get this stuff? Thanks for any advice!

isn't this what professors are for? Why do you need construction managment knowledge for nursing?

The best place to start is at your local building and inspection department (or whatever your state calls it) they will have every such building's related permits on file and for a $5.oo fee give you a printout of the contractors registering and details on the sites. Then just call up the contractors, explain your request as friendly as you can and if they have time they may give you more information then you'll ever need... often contractors are just too busy to deal with non-clients but there's always a few that see the benifit in community relations. Most permit officers are happy to help & run the database search while you wait. (thou some folks have had different experiences with them :-)
