Just an update on my heating system installation that Richard (Rabadger)designed for me. I ended going with a high effeciency condensing furnace (Goodman) and set up the duct work for 4 zone capability. Used it for the first time last night, worked great. Nice even heat distribution and airflow throughout and that's without even doing the final balancing yet, actually the registers aren't even installed yet, just the duct boots. Great job Rich, thanks again!

Yep, I got plus or minus 1 degree after final balancing. The Delta T is on the low side of the specs. which I like in interest of heat exchanger longevity. I used that Trac-Pipe (flexible gas piping) for the 25' run from the propane tank, nice stuff, easy to use.

The reason why your Delta T is on the low side is because an A/C coil is not being used. That will add to the static and bring up the temperature rise.

Right, I understand. The Delta T is within specs. so it's fine as is. No reason for correction, blower is set at medium from the factory for heating and high for cooling. I'd rather have the Delta on the low versus the high end so I'm not complaining.

Thats cool, What was the temp rise?
How did the return air work out?

Rich I believe the specs were 30-60 and I was on the low side of that once the conditioned space temperature stabilized. The return air worked out good. As you know, I built a dummy wall next to my main load bearing wall and installed the 10x20 return grilles, installed floor returns in the bedrooms and another wall return for the main hallway. I went all out on the return air and man was that a lot of work! On my return plenum I have a 14" round, a 12" round and a 7" round. I polished my tin knockin skills a little bit anyway, I fabbed everything but the supply plenum. The little Hensler bender paid for itself on this one. A few cuts and a little swearing but I got it done, duct sealed everything and taped all the necessary joints. The supply house had a good sale on Aprilaire Humidifiers so I threw one of those in as well.

You don't even want to see my tin work. When it come to that, I keep 911 and the blood bank on speed dial.
By the way, what is the phone number for 911 :?: :P

  Like I said, there was some swearing involved until I found a pair of gloves that I could still move in.
