In our area ( the Canadain Shield ) Bed rock is an every day thing to deal with when constructing footing forms. The good part is that usually you can count on the rock ridges running mostly North to South. Well we broke ground and ..... not this time!
I have never seen such a mess to try and work out. Ridges running from every where, all sloping into the middle of the house. Plan is to construct a block foundation under a 14'6" x 25' section that will attach to a Mobile home on Block columns. Yep, the 8 column pads will be placed way down in the never ending hole! There was no choice but to go right to rock because the soil where columns are being placed was like beach sand. End result would of been a sinking mobile with a firm addition. Not Good!
So, enjoy the pic and have a laugh ..... I know I will ........ some day.
