I'm looking for a decent low-maintence low pain in the a$$ weed eater. Any recommendations?

From my experience, the bottom of the line Poulan Featherlite Plus- available practically everywhere. It is easy to use, very lightweight, and I've had good luck with them. They are very good for trimming even though they dont have the power for a lot of heavy weedwhacking. Only my opinion.

Does anyone make one that doesn't use a string system. I can't stand those. And i'm not talking about a brush cutter with a circular metal blad.

Are you talking about the small chain types?

You can buy a universal cutting head that is supposed to fit most wackers... it uses cutting arms instead of the string. it looks like little nylon/plastic flails. I'm not sure of the brand name, but they're in with the weed trimmer parts at HD.

Yeah the nylon plastic flails. Thats what i'm looking for. I can't stand the whole spooling part of weed wackers.

Thanks guys.

Be careful of those adapters that have the stiff arms on them. I bought one of those and found out if you weed eat against anything really hard like concrete the little arms explode and before you know it you are back at wal-mart buying more arms.

One of my friends had one a while back, I forget the brand name, But it ran on water, got rid of all the weeds. It got loose one day and ate his neighbors flower garden(Yes the whole garden). I think he had to get rid of it after that.

Was it a Boer? Or perhaps a Nubian? Both are excellent models but with certain disadvantages, of course.

I like the goat model myself but I doubt city code would appreciate it.
