taco 007 circulators

anyone know i,f when replacing the the taco 007 pump cartridge, if the hot water system has to be drained, or is it seperate from the system? thanx

This for a recirc loop ? I got one and I have shut off valves above and below it. I would think you could simply turn them off and take out the cartridge and drain what's in there. I'm not a pro so please wait till one replies, meantime this will bump you up.
