I am in the research phase of building a cinder block wall. I would like the wall to be 6' high and it will run about 300 yards. I live in Florida and the ground is dirt and sand. Is there an article or a tutorial I can follow to begin this project? The first thing I need to do is figure out my materials. How many blocks will I need? How much rebar? Cement? etc.

Take the area of the wall and divide by .888 which will give you the number of blocks. You may then want to add 10% for waste and broken stock. Rebar - I would say you would want to do an upright every 3'-4'. For grout filling - depending on style of cmu - will depend on how much grout you will need. Check with the supplier they will let you know.
