Long Flashings...

Hi Folks.

I have a situation where I need a drip rail that is approx 20' long, and the longest metal brake, or prefabbed flashing, that I can find to use is only 10" long. Obviously it would be preferred to have this flashing be one long piece... but that doesn't look like an option.

How far should I overlap the flashings? I was thinking 6 inches.. and caulking the them together for an added level of protection. Does this sound like a decent way to handle it?

6" is fine. Us an elastomeric sealer in 3 strips inside the joint so it isn't visible. Frank
