Roll out matting with grass and mulch

Anyone know anything about this stuff like they use along the highways and on commercial property? Is it something an average person can purchase somewhere? Are they different kind of seed available?

I've never even seen the roll out variety. Around here they use a machine that mixes chopped up grass sprigs, fertilizer and some sort of binder-sticker and they spray it onto the open areas.

The state DOT does alot of hydro-seeding around here. I've seen the stuff actually grow on rock? :lol:

This stuff looks like a thin straw mat that comes in wide rolls. They just roll it out and stake it down. They use it a lot on steep inclines. It works just like the spray on mulch you are talking about.
