Can anyone tell me the quickest and cheapest way to cut and bend #6 rebar. Can I use a chop saw or a recipicating saw with a metal cutting blade.

For bending I had seen where someone had used a 6X6 timber, drilled holes and placed smal rebar dowels inside the holes and slid a piece of rebar between the dowels and bent the rebar by standing on the timber and pulling the rebar up and bending it. Is this possible.

Any help would be appreciated

Probably the chop saw would work easier- just plan on using up some blades. Bending will require a solid place to bend the rebar against or around. #6 rebar is pretty hefty.

Gas powered quick cut is the fastest.

When I don't have the bender I put in the trailer hitch of my truck. The ball makes a good radius.
